    Web 1.0 (1990)

Web1.0 is used to describe the earliest form of consumer internet. The "read only” nature of Web1.0 allow users to consume or create text, video, pictures or other forms of multimedia contents via a webpage. At the end of the day a few people or companies created information for everyone else to consume.

    Web 2.0 (2004)

The world of Web2.0 was much more diverse and functional and it is categlozied by platforms such as MySpace, Blogger, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and to a later extent Instagram and TikTok. Now creators can create more dynamic content and communicate directly with their fans. Advertisement became the main form of revenue for creators but it required content creators to acquire a large sum of followers and it is something increasingly difficult to do. Content itself are offered usually for free and platforms takes a large cut from the creator’s earnings.

    Web 3.0 (2021)

The exact potential of Web 3.0 is yet to be fully expanded but it is about forming direct "Creator to User” relationship, putting community at the forefront of content creation and allow creators to communicate directly with their biggest fans. In return fans will also be able to participate in the creative process and allow the community and create and earn together.
